Mobilis League 1: MC Algiers vs. Olympique Akbou Tops the Table, Exciting Derby in Constantine

Algiers – The sixth round of the Mobilis League 1 kicks off across Thursday, Friday, and Saturday with exciting fixtures. The highlight will be the clash between table leaders MC Algiers and third-placed Olympique Akbou. Meanwhile, attention will also be on the much-anticipated Eastern Derby between CS Constantine and ES Sétif, which promises to be an intense and unpredictable encounter.

MC Algiers, currently at the top of the table with 11 points, aims to maintain their leadership and secure three crucial points at home against newly promoted Olympique Akbou (third, 10 points). Akbou, led by Tunisian coach Moez Bouakkaz, has had an impressive start to the season, suffering only one defeat so far against JS Kabylie (2-1). However, they’ll face a tough challenge at the July 5 Stadium, where MC Algiers are determined to continue their winning streak after two consecutive victories.

On the other hand, USM Algiers, tied at the top with MC Algiers at 11 points, will travel to ASO Chlef (11th place, 4 points). Fresh off an away win over MC Mostaganem (1-0), USM Algiers will look to maintain their momentum. However, Chlef will be desperate for their first win of the season after a disappointing 1-1 draw at home against USM Khenchela in a postponed match earlier this week.

Eastern Derby Showdown: CS Constantine vs. ES Sétif

The Eastern Derby between CS Constantine (fourth place, 9 points) and ES Sétif (fifth place, 8 points) is shaping up to be a thrilling encounter. Both teams are on good form, with CS Constantine undefeated so far this season and eager to stay close to the top three. After two straight wins, including a 3-2 victory away at JS Kabylie, CS Constantine will look to add another positive result before welcoming back their supporters in their next home game.

Meanwhile, ES Sétif, nicknamed the “Black Eagle,” narrowly defeated MC Mostaganem 1-0 at home in their previous match. They now aim to build on that success, although they’ll face a difficult task playing against Constantine behind closed doors due to the final game of their fan ban.

Challenging Fixtures for JS Kabylie and CR Belouizdad

Elsewhere, CR Belouizdad (11th place, 4 points), last season’s runner-up, has struggled in the early rounds of the new campaign. Under new coach Abdelkader Amrani, the team is still searching for their first win after drawing 0-0 with USM Algiers. Belouizdad will now travel east to face NC Magra (16th place, 3 points) in what will be a crucial six-point encounter for both sides.

JS Kabylie (eighth place, 6 points), on the other hand, must avoid a third consecutive defeat when they host USM Khenchela (also eighth, 6 points). With a modest record of two wins and three losses, Kabylie’s coach, Abdelhak Benchikha, is under growing pressure to find winning solutions and restore the team’s confidence. This game could prove pivotal for his future at the club.

JS Saoura (11th place, 4 points) will also need to be cautious as they host MC El Bayadh (eighth, 6 points), a team coming off two consecutive wins that lifted them out of the danger zone. The visitors will be looking to extend their positive run, while JS Saoura aims to bounce back from a series of disappointing results.

In Algiers, Paradou AC (11th place, 4 points) must overcome their recent slump of three consecutive setbacks when they welcome MC Oran (seventh, 7 points). Oran, inspired by their new coach Eric Sekou Chel, recently secured a valuable 2-0 win over JS Kabylie and will look to maintain their momentum.
