Algerian National Team Prepares for AFCON 2025 Qualifiers with Training Camp

The Algerian national football team will hold a preparatory training camp from November 11 to 17 during the upcoming FIFA international break. This camp will be crucial for their upcoming match against Equatorial Guinea on November 14 at 2:00 PM (Algerian time) in Malabo. The match is part of the fifth and penultimate round of the qualifiers for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), according to a statement from the Algerian Football Federation (FAF).

Following a recent regular meeting of the FAF Federal Bureau at the National Technical Center in Sidi Moussa (Algiers), the federation confirmed that the Algerian team will, after the match against Equatorial Guinea, host Liberia on November 17 at 5:00 PM at the Hussein Ait Ahmed Stadium in Tizi Ouzou for the sixth and final round of the qualifiers.

To ensure smooth preparations, an organizing committee will travel to Tizi Ouzou on Saturday, November 2, to begin logistical arrangements for the home match against Liberia.

The match in Malabo will be officiated by a Beninese referee team, led by referee Djindo Louis Hougnandande, with assistants Eric Emar Ulrich Ayimavo and Kodogbo Augustin Kougbemede, while Issa Mohamed will serve as the fourth official.

Algeria’s national team, currently leading their group with 12 points, has already secured qualification for the AFCON 2025 finals with two matches remaining. The team has shown dominant form in the qualifiers, outpacing Equatorial Guinea (7 points) and Togo (2 points), while Liberia is at the bottom with just one point.

The top two teams from each of the 11 qualifying groups will advance to the final tournament, scheduled to take place from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026. Additionally, one team from the host country’s group will qualify.
