The Professional Association of Banks and Financial Institutions (ABEF) in collaboration with national banks will launch the “Financial Literacy Week” at all universities and higher education institutions across the country, starting tomorrow, Sunday, and running until October 26th.

According to a report by the news agency today, this week-long event, organized in commemoration of World Savings Day, aims to activate communication and raise awareness about the importance of involving young people in the banking sector, promoting financial inclusion. It recognizes them as future bank customers, allowing them to access banking products and services easily, as stated in the press release.

These banking services include understanding how to use a bank account, its benefits, as well as the associated banking products and services. Additionally, it covers electronic payment methods through online banking (E-Banking) or via debit cards. The event will also focus on digital banking products and services in Algeria.

Through this event, the Professional Association of Banks and Financial Institutions aims to achieve several objectives, including fostering financial literacy to enhance financial inclusion in Algeria. It’s worth noting that this is the first step in a series of activities planned as part of a structured program for this purpose, according to the same source.

This significant event, according to the association, will bring together representatives from various national banks who will clarify and inform university students about topics related to finance and banking.
