In her address, the minister emphasized the importance of preserving heritage architecture, a vital pillar of Algeria’s national and civilizational memory. She highlighted the need for intensified intellectual and technical efforts to achieve desired goals. Mouloudji noted that architecture, initially functional, has evolved over time with rising aesthetic sensibilities and civilizational awareness. It now stands as an art form in its own right, underpinned by principles of choice and comparison.

Mouloudji pointed out that Algeria, with its civilizational richness and geographical diversity, has contributed significantly through its architecture. Algerian architecture reflects the constructive influences of various civilizations that have shaped it, producing a cultural legacy that symbolizes national identity and history across different eras and social transformations. It represents both the cultural identity and the rich history of the country.

The “Algeria Arts and Architecture Days,” held from December 24 to 26 at the Mufdi Zakariah Culture Palace, aims to create a platform for exchanging expertise and ideas. It offers artists and architects an opportunity to showcase their creative works in arts and architecture, focusing on innovation, heritage, sustainability, and identity. The event also seeks to promote constructive dialogue and bring arts and architecture closer to the public.
