Trade Minister Orders Immediate Processing of Import Program Requests

Minister of Foreign Trade and Export Promotion Kamel Rezig chaired a working meeting today at the ministry’s headquarters with senior officials from the sector.
According to a statement issued by the ministry, the meeting was devoted to examining requests submitted by economic operators and approving the provisional import programs for the second half of the year. It also focused on strengthening support mechanisms for exporters.
During the meeting, the minister stressed the need to begin processing and approving requests immediately once the economic operator completes the required application through the digital platform. He emphasized that administrative procedures must be handled with speed, accuracy and efficiency.
Rezig also instructed directors to set up duty teams in order to ensure the continuous handling of requests. These teams are expected to provide the necessary support to economic operators and respond to their needs in an effective and professional manner.
The minister underlined the importance for economic operators to settle their obligations toward tax services and social security funds. He explained that meeting these obligations is one of the basic conditions required to complete the procedures related to their files.
In the same context, Rezig called for keeping pace with the growing momentum witnessed by the export sector. He insisted on the need to listen to exporters’ concerns and address them quickly and efficiently, in a way that helps strengthen national exports and support the presence of Algerian products in foreign markets.
At the end of the meeting, the minister issued a series of instructions aimed at improving the quality of administrative performance. These guidelines are in line with the state’s efforts to improve the business climate, promote non-hydrocarbon exports and consolidate digital administration as a strategic choice.
This approach seeks to bring public services closer to economic operators and make procedures more transparent, faster and better adapted to the needs of businesses.
