A fifteen-member delegation from the African Union Peace and Security Council (AUPSC), led by Algeria's representative to the African Union, arrived in Khartoum on Saturday evening. Algeria's envoy is currently serving as the Council's chair for the current month. The delegation is scheduled to begin a series of intensive high-level meetings and discussions in the Sudanese capital on Sunday, signaling a constructive engagement in the region's affairs.

The central focus of these discussions will be the latest developments concerning the humanitarian situation in Sudan, following recent security tensions across the country. The delegation aims to assess and address these challenges, initiating anticipated efforts from the African Union as part of its ongoing endeavors to engage proactively and constructively in resolving the Sudanese crisis.

During their visit, the delegation members are expected to hold meetings with key Sudanese figures, including the Chairman of the Sovereign Council, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, and Prime Minister Kamil Idris.
