Rotterdam to Host Algerian Women’s Gymnastics Team in 2026

The Algerian women's national artistic gymnastics team has officially qualified for the 2026 World Championships, scheduled to be held in Rotterdam, Netherlands, from October 17 to 25. This significant achievement places Algeria as the sole African nation to represent the continent at the upcoming global competition.

The definitive list of qualified teams for the championships was published by the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG), confirming Algeria's inclusion among the 24 nations participating in the women's team competition. Other countries set to compete include the United States, Brazil, China, Great Britain, Russia, and host nation the Netherlands.

This qualification underscores the consistent progress of Algerian artistic gymnastics. The team recently demonstrated its rising prowess by winning the 19th African Championships in Yaoundé, Cameroon, triumphing over teams like South Africa and Egypt. Instrumental to their success were performances by Olympic champion Kaylia Nemour, who secured the individual all-around title and two additional gold medals on the beam and floor, and Djena Laroui, further cementing Algeria's ambition to establish itself among the sport's emerging international nations.
