Gendarmerie Seizes Half-Million Psychotropic Pills in Constantine

Gendarmerie National forces in the Wilaya of Constantine, within the Fifth Military Region, successfully apprehended two individuals and seized nearly half a million psychotropic pills on Saturday, August 15, 2026. This operation highlights the ongoing vigilance of Algerian security services in combating illicit activities.

The significant quantity of psychotropic pills was discovered concealed within specially adapted cavities of a semi-trailer truck, indicating an organized trafficking attempt. In addition to the drug consignment, security forces also confiscated three tourist vehicles believed to have been used in connection with this criminal network.
