DGSN Launches National Police Officer Recruitment for 2026
The Directorate General of National Security (DGSN) has officially launched a comprehensive national recruitment initiative for the year 2026, aimed at enlisting and training new police officers and principal police officers. This extensive campaign seeks to bolster national security capabilities by bringing in both male and female candidates for various strategic specialties and operational roles across the country. The DGSN is pursuing two distinct avenues for recruitment, ensuring a broad spectrum of talent is engaged.
The first component of this recruitment drive focuses on access to the police officer rank through competitive examinations. Positions for female candidates are specifically available within the police services of Alger, Oran, and Constantine wilayas. For male candidates, the competition extends to 27 wilayas nationwide, including Oum El Bouaghi, Batna, Béjaïa, Tébessa, Jijel, Sétif, Skikda, Annaba, Guelma, Constantine, Bordj Bou Arreridj, El Tarf, Khenchela, Souk Ahras, Mila, Tlemcen, Tiaret, Saïda, Sidi Bel Abbès, Mostaganem, Mascara, Oran, El Bayadh, Tissemsilt, Naâma, Aïn Témouchent, and Relizane, addressing precise logistical and operational needs of the National Security services.
Concurrently, the DGSN has opened a separate recruitment stream based on qualifications, targeting individuals holding a Master's degree or equivalent from higher education institutions in advanced scientific and technological fields. These specialized areas include Mathematics, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, and general Sciences and Technologies. One hundred budgetary positions have been allocated for this category, with 80 designated for men and 20 for women, aiming to integrate high-level technical expertise into the police's specialized departments.
Prospective candidates for both streams must meet several eligibility requirements, including being between 23 and 28 years old at the time of the competition, possessing original Algerian nationality, enjoying full civil rights, and demonstrating good conduct. Physical fitness, specified height requirements, visual acuity, and legal status regarding national service are also mandatory. Interested applicants can download the registration form and review all access conditions on the official Algerian Police website and its digital platforms, with initial dossiers to be submitted directly to Daïra or Wilaya Sûreté headquarters.
