Public Works Minister Accelerates Souk Ahras Railway Project

The Minister of Public Works and Infrastructure, Abdelkader Djellaoui, conducted an inspection visit to Souk Ahras province on Sunday to review the progress of the East mining railway project. During his tour, which included a 72-kilometer section within the province, the Minister specifically directed project officials to intensify and accelerate the pace of work on this strategic infrastructure initiative.
During the inspection, Minister Djellaoui examined several structures, including 17 engineering works along the railway’s route. Project representatives provided detailed presentations on the construction techniques employed, the current progress rates, and the measures being implemented to further accelerate the various construction sites. The Minister also visited Tunnel No. 4, part of the section connecting Aïn Sennour in Souk Ahras to Bouchegouf in Guelma, where the public enterprise Cosider is undertaking the construction work.
In his directives, Abdelkader Djellaoui stressed the importance of mobilizing all available human, material, and technical resources to enhance the construction rhythm. He underscored the necessity of improving execution speed while maintaining strict adherence to quality and safety standards. This project is considered strategic for the valorization of mineral resources and contributes significantly to regional development, with the Minister's inspection planned to continue to other sections, including those in Tébessa province.
