Fleet Reliability Targeted by Air Algérie Maintenance Tender

Air Algérie has issued an international call for tenders to secure heavy maintenance services for several aircraft models in its fleet, including those recently acquired from Boeing and Airbus. This initiative is designed to reinforce the national airline's operational capabilities and ensure the reliability of its aircraft. The tender seeks to pre-select specialized Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) service providers capable of conducting these heavy maintenance visits.
The decision to temporarily outsource these operations allows Air Algérie to maintain high standards for its fleet while its own specialized maintenance subsidiary is established. Air Algérie CEO Hamza Benhamouda announced on July 11 that the group is actively working on the creation of this dedicated aircraft maintenance company.
The national carrier aims for its new maintenance company to commence operations by the end of the current year. This development is viewed as an investment that will leverage the extensive experience gained by Air Algérie over the years, underscoring a commitment to enhancing the long-term reliability and safety of its fleet through national expertise.
