Canada, Algeria Affirm Global Peace, Security Support

The Speaker of Algeria's People's National Assembly, Khelida Boufdesh, recently received Canada's Ambassador to Algeria, Robin Lynn Whitlofer, in Algiers. The meeting served to underscore the profound relationship between Algeria and Canada, which is built upon principles of friendship and mutual respect. Discussions highlighted the necessity of advancing these ties into broader domains that encompass energy, technology, scientific research, and academia, all aimed at serving the shared interests of both nations and their peoples.

During their talks, both parties focused significantly on bolstering parliamentary cooperation. They agreed to intensify communication and consultation between their respective legislative institutions. This commitment includes exchanging expertise and experiences, which is intended to strengthen parliamentary diplomacy and forge new avenues for bilateral collaboration, particularly through dedicated parliamentary friendship groups.

Furthermore, the Algerian and Canadian representatives addressed several matters of mutual concern. Both sides reiterated their steadfast support for international efforts aimed at solidifying security and peace.
