Bejaia Hosts Algerian Diaspora Youth for Cultural Program

The Algerian Ministry of Youth has launched a national summer camps program, embodying a state policy aimed at strengthening bonds between Algerian youth residing abroad and their homeland. This initiative coordinates governmental efforts between the Ministry of Youth and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with active field contributions from diplomatic and consular missions. It aligns with President Abdelmadjid Tebboune's vision and program for supporting the national community abroad and ensuring their participation in national programs.

The program commenced with the arrival of a delegation of 26 young people and children from the Algerian community in Saudi Arabia at Algiers International Airport. Another delegation, comprising 36 young people and children from Algerian communities in Tunisian border regions, is also expected to arrive for the National Summer Camps Program for 2026. Both delegations will be accommodated at the "Princess Palace" Holiday and Recreation Center in Bejaia, benefitting from a comprehensive schedule of activities.

Participants will engage in a diverse educational and recreational program, which includes cultural and interactive activities, alongside excursions to historical and tourist sites. These experiences are designed to allow them to discover Algeria's rich natural, cultural, and heritage diversity, and to familiarize themselves with the country's various components and traditions. The initiative serves as a significant milestone in fostering communication with the Algerian diaspora, offering a unique summer camp experience that reinforces a sense of belonging, pride in national identity, and strengthens their connection to their ancestral land, while also allowing them to meet peers from across Algeria's wilayas. The participation of youth from Saudi Arabia and Tunisia marks a gradual expansion of the program's beneficiaries.
