President Tebboune: Algeria, Victorious over Colonialism, Continues Confidently on Its Path of Success

Algiers – President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of National Defense, affirmed on Friday that the spirit of Algeria’s revolutionary anniversary—marking 70 years since the start of its War of Independence—serves as a testament to the country’s enduring path of victories. He praised the nation’s loyal citizens for their commitment to honoring the legacy of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for Algeria’s freedom.

In a speech given during the National People’s Army’s military parade along National Road 11 near the Great Mosque of Algiers, President Tebboune declared, “This historic day, rich with pride and honor, is a reminder that Algeria, which overcame colonialism, continues on its path of success, thanks to the dedicated sons and daughters of our martyrs.”

President Tebboune extended his heartfelt congratulations to the Algerian people, calling them “steadfast and honorable,” while also welcoming visiting leaders from friendly and allied nations. He expressed his gratitude for their presence, which underscores Algeria’s esteemed role in fostering regional security, stability, and the defense of just causes around the world.

On this special occasion, the President honored the National People’s Army and all security forces for their dedication to defending Algeria’s borders and safeguarding its land, airspace, and maritime frontiers. He commended their readiness to sacrifice for the preservation of the nation and for upholding the achievements made in the name of Algeria’s revered martyrs.

He noted that “we have worked tirelessly to ensure this military parade reflects the significance of the seventieth anniversary and honors the sacrifices of those who defended the nation’s legacy.” He emphasized the unbreakable bond between the people and the National People’s Army, whose members he described as sharing a deep sense of national pride and commitment.

President Tebboune also stressed the defensive nature of the National People’s Army, whose mission is to safeguard Algeria’s sovereignty and contribute to international peace and security. This mandate, he highlighted, aligns with Algeria’s international commitments and constitutional values.

Despite the global economic and security challenges, Tebboune reaffirmed Algeria’s determination to continue building a “New Algeria,” with ambitious developmental projects propelled by the efforts of patriotic Algerians. He noted that these initiatives aim to create a better future and meet the aspirations of citizens for a dignified life within a secure and stable environment.

In closing, President Tebboune paid tribute to Algeria’s fallen heroes, honoring the memories of those who died during the resistance, the liberation struggle, and in national service.
