Street Brawl Erupts Between Galatasaray and Bayern Munich Fans

A street brawl erupted between supporters of the Turkish team Galatasaray and the visiting German team Bayern Munich ahead of their match tonight in the third round of the UEFA Champions League.

According to Turkish TV channel “NTV,” at least five people were injured, including four Germans, after the brawl that occurred yesterday evening in the Beyoglu district.

The private news agency “Demiroren” posted footage showing both sides throwing chairs and bottles at each other before the police intervened in the famous commercial Independence Street.

The cause of the brawl has not yet been determined.

Bayern Munich had secured victories in their first two matches in the group, defeating English side Manchester United and Danish team Copenhagen, while Galatasaray sits in second place in the group, trailing by two points.
