The Ministry of Culture and Arts has announced the opening of nominations for the second edition of the “Cultural Youth” award, which is dedicated to young talents in the fields of arts, visual arts, and literature. This award is held under the auspices of the Prime Minister, Nazir Al-Arbaoui.

Interested participants in this award, named after the late revolutionary writer, Mohamed Chabouki, are required to submit their works at the Ministry of Culture and Arts in Algiers or via email by March 21st.

The competition is open to Algerian children and youth, both residing within Algeria and abroad, aged between 7 and 16 years old. The competition’s rules emphasize the importance of respecting Algerian cultural values and not undermining human values in the submitted work.

The award is divided into two categories: “Artistic and Visual Works,” which include music, performance, theater, television, cinema, singing, drawing, sculpture, and animation, and “Literary Works,” which encompass storytelling, children’s stories, novels, and poetry.

The awards ceremony is scheduled for April 16th, coinciding with the celebration of National Science Day.

The “Cultural Youth” award, established last year, aims to encourage and support young emerging talents in the fields of cultural and artistic creativity. It aspires to make a significant contribution to the Algerian cultural and creative landscape while nurturing young talents in the artistic, visual, and literary domains.
