Algeria Launches National Campaign to Recycle Eid Al-Adha Hides for Local Industry
Algeria’s Ministry of Industry has launched a nationwide campaign to collect Eid Al-Adha animal hides, operating under the slogan ‘From Sacrifice to Factory… Your Hide Is a Value Not to Be Wasted’, aimed at boosting the circular economy and protecting the environment.
The ministry told dzwatch exclusively that the hides will be transformed from seasonal waste into raw materials feeding Algeria’s national leather and textile manufacturing industries, reducing dependence on imports while valorizing local resources.
Citizens are urged to follow official guidelines on properly preserving, salting, and drying hides before delivering them to designated collection points across the country.
Officials stressed that the initiative directly supports the national economy, strengthens Algerian industry, cuts import costs, advances circular economy goals, and promotes environmental sustainability.
