Ahmed Attaf Participates in High-Level UN Discussion on Sustainable Energy Goals

Algerian Foreign Affairs Minister Ahmed Attaf attended a high-level discussion session today at the United Nations headquarters, focusing on the implementation of the UN Decade of Sustainable Energy goals. This participation marks the conclusion of his working visit to New York, according to a statement from the Ministry.

The session provided an opportunity to showcase Algeria’s national experiences and its efforts to contribute to energy security on both regional and international levels. Minister Attaf’s involvement at the UN General Assembly’s discussion underlines Algeria’s active role in promoting sustainable energy initiatives globally.

On the sidelines of this session, Minister Attaf also held bilateral talks with his counterpart from Sierra Leone, Musa Timothy Kaba. The two officials reviewed ongoing efforts to enhance bilateral cooperation and discussed the importance of coordinated action in their continuous membership in the Security Council.

Furthermore, Minister Attaf engaged in discussions with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian. Their meeting focused on following up on the outcomes of recent talks held in Algeria between President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, as well as the situation in Gaza and efforts at various levels to support the Palestinian cause.
