Election Campaign Finance Committee Urges Candidate Lists to Submit Accounts on Time

The Election Campaign Finance Monitoring Committee, affiliated with the National Independent Authority for Elections, called on Tuesday on all lists that took part in the July 2, 2026 election of members of the People’s National Assembly to comply with the legal procedures and deadlines for preparing and submitting their campaign accounts.

In a statement, the committee explained that respecting these procedures is necessary to avoid losing the right to benefit from reimbursement of election campaign expenses.

The committee said that this measure comes in application of the provisions of Presidential Decree No. 26-145, dated April 4, 2026, which includes the convening of the electorate, as well as the provisions of the organic law relating to the electoral system.

According to the statement, campaign accounts must be prepared and submitted in paper form, using the model published on the committee’s official website. They must be placed in a sealed envelope bearing the name of the electoral district, the name of the list, its identification number and the name of the delegated candidate.

The envelope must include two separate files. The first is dedicated to detailed expenditure tables, accompanied by supporting documents. The second is reserved for detailed revenue tables and the documents proving them.

The committee added that the accounts must be submitted by the delegated candidate, the financial officer or the auditor, depending on the case. The deadline is set at a maximum of two months from the date on which the final results are announced by the Constitutional Court.

The delegated candidate is also required to present the authorization certificate and an identity document when submitting the file.

The committee urged concerned parties not to wait until the final days of the legal deadline and to submit their accounts as soon as possible, in order to ensure the smooth functioning of the committee’s work.

It also warned that exceeding the two-month deadline will deprive candidate lists of the right to reimbursement of campaign expenses, and that no campaign account will be accepted after the legal deadline has expired.
