Niger’s President Congratulates Algeria on 64th Independence Anniversary

Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune received a message of congratulations from Niger’s President, General Abdourahamane Tiani, on the occasion of the 64th anniversary of Algeria’s independence and the restoration of national sovereignty.

In his message, President Tiani conveyed his warmest congratulations and best wishes to President Tebboune on his own behalf and on behalf of the people of Niger.

He also wished the Algerian President continued happiness and the Algerian people further progress, stability and prosperity as the country commemorates one of the most important dates in its modern history.

Algeria celebrates its Independence and Youth Day every year on July 5, marking the end of 132 years of French colonial rule and the restoration of national sovereignty in 1962.

The Nigerien President expressed his satisfaction with the excellent level of friendship, brotherhood and cooperation between Niger and Algeria.

He highlighted the strong relations connecting the two neighbouring countries and reaffirmed his willingness to continue working closely with President Tebboune to further strengthen their bilateral partnership.

President Tiani stressed that deeper cooperation would serve the shared interests of the Algerian and Nigerien peoples, who are linked by geographical proximity, historical ties and common regional challenges.

Algeria and Niger maintain close relations in several areas, including security, trade, energy, transportation and regional development. Both countries also coordinate on issues affecting the Sahel region, particularly border security, economic stability and efforts to promote peaceful solutions to regional crises.

The congratulatory message reflects the importance attached by both leaders to preserving dialogue and reinforcing cooperation between the two countries.

It also demonstrates Niger’s appreciation of Algeria’s historical struggle for independence and the sacrifices made by the Algerian people to regain their freedom and sovereignty.

As Algeria marks the 64th anniversary of its independence, messages from foreign leaders continue to underline the country’s diplomatic relations and its role in promoting cooperation, solidarity and stability across Africa.

President Tiani renewed his commitment to working alongside President Tebboune to develop Algerian-Nigerien relations and open new prospects for cooperation for the benefit of the two brotherly nations.
