Sihem Djoudi Leads Canadian Health Team as First CEO

Sihem Djoudi, an Algerian-trained physician who graduated from Badji Mokhtar University of Annaba, has been appointed as the first Chief Executive Officer of the newly established Montfort Community Family Health Team in West Ottawa, Canada. This significant appointment places her at the helm of a structure designed to serve the francophone community in the region, reflecting both her distinguished professional journey and the international recognition of Algerian educational quality.

Dr. Djoudi brings extensive academic and professional experience to her new role. After her medical training in Algeria, she pursued further studies in Quebec, earning a Master's degree in educational technology and a specialized postgraduate diploma from Laval University. Her career in Canada has included serving as interim coordinator for the National Health Training Consortium and as a learning development coordinator. Since 2007, she has also been a part-time professor at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Ottawa and has held leadership positions, including vice-president of the collegiate board at La Cité College. She also directs the francophone components of a nursing program transformation project.

In her new capacity, Dr. Djoudi is tasked with launching the Montfort Community Family Health Team project, which aims to progressively care for 6,725 patients by the end of 2027, supported by an annual provincial investment of $2.4 million. Roger Farley, Board Chair of the Montfort Community Family Health Team of West Ottawa, praised her clinical understanding and ability to mobilize people towards common objectives. Dominic Giroux, President and CEO of Montfort, highlighted Dr. Djoudi's appointment as a crucial step towards the clinic's successful opening. Dr. Djoudi herself expressed that it is a privilege to help build this new organization, affirming her commitment to creating an accessible, collaborative, and sustainable clinic where patient needs guide all decisions and high-quality human care is paramount.
