CAF Names Two Algerian Players to 2026 Women’s AFCON Ideal XI

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced its Ideal XI for the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations, featuring two Algerian players: Marine Dafeur and Inès Belloumou. Marine Dafeur, a captain and midfielder, and Inès Belloumou, a left-back, earned their places among the continent's top talent following the tournament.

The selection, made by the CAF's technical committee, highlights the individual excellence of these Algerian athletes. Both players were recognized for their performances, with the committee identifying them as meriting inclusion in this prestigious continental lineup, an acknowledgment of their skill and contribution to football in Africa.

The Ideal XI, emerging from the CAN – Maroc 2026, also includes a lineup of other distinguished players and is led by Cameroonian coach Valentine Nguele, who guided the African champions. The presence of Dafeur and Belloumou underscores the caliber of Algerian women's football on the international stage, bringing positive recognition to the nation's sporting achievements.
