Oil Prices Soar Over 2% to Nearly One-Month High

Global oil prices surged by over two percent at settlement on Thursday, reaching their highest levels in nearly a month. This significant increase reflects a positive trend in the international energy markets, with potential favorable implications for oil-exporting nations such as Algeria.

Specifically, Brent crude futures saw an increase of $2.16, or 2.4 percent, closing at $93.78 per barrel. This marks its highest settlement price since July 24. Similarly, US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures for September delivery also climbed by $2.00, settling at $87.83 per barrel, also marking its highest point since July 24.

The rise in crude oil prices is a welcome development for Algeria, a prominent oil and gas producer and exporter. Higher global energy prices typically lead to increased national revenue, which can support economic stability and fund national development initiatives across various sectors. This upward trend in the oil market is expected to provide a robust boost to the nation's economic outlook.
