Comprehensive Plan Aids 40,000 Students, 15,000 Supervisors

Algeria's Ministry of National Solidarity, Family and Women's Affairs has completed comprehensive preparations for the upcoming academic year, implementing an integrated program designed to ensure a smooth and supportive return to school. This initiative includes providing care for 40,000 students under the supervision of 15,000 trained personnel. Furthermore, over 2.7 million students have benefited from school grants, with financial allocations disbursed by the specified deadline of July 31, 2026. The ministry's robust institutional framework comprises 242 specialized educational institutions and 30 annexes nationwide, complemented by 1,545 special classes within national education institutions, which will see an addition of over 200 new classes this year.

A significant aspect of these preparations involves enhanced support for students with special needs. Following instructions from the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Algeria has established its first National Center for Autism in Algiers, alongside four specialized centers in Oran, Bechar, Tebessa, and Tipaza. These centers are part of a broader national campaign for the early diagnosis and detection of autism spectrum disorder symptoms in children, aiming to facilitate their guidance and integration based on individual capabilities. Financial appropriations for technical and pedagogical equipment for people with special needs have reached 195,700,171 dinars, with an additional 100 million dinars specifically allocated for visually impaired children attending specialized schools.

To streamline operations and enhance educational support, the Ministry has launched a new procedural guide outlining arrangements for the 2026-2027 academic year. This guide, structured around nine fundamental axes, addresses organization, pedagogical arrangements, sports and cultural activities, mainstream school integration, academic support, infrastructure, training, and information systems. In a related solidarity effort, the Minister of National Solidarity, Family and Women's Affairs, Souriya Mouloji, initiated the distribution of over 186,000 school bags, underscoring the government's commitment to equipping students for their educational journey.
