Al-Qasimi Al-Hasani Urges Youth to Create Digital Influence

Mohamed El Maâmoun Al-Qasimi Al-Hasani, Rector of the Grande Mosquée d'Alger, has urged Algerian youth to harness digital transformation for constructive societal impact rather than solely pursuing celebrity. His remarks were delivered during the opening of a youth cultural symposium, "Creating Impact in Youth: From Yathrib to the Digital Age," organized by the Grande Mosquée d'Alger’s cultural center. The Rector highlighted that while the digital realm offers unprecedented opportunities for influence and outreach, it simultaneously places greater responsibility on individuals for the content they publish, given its rapid dissemination and lasting presence online.
Al-Qasimi Al-Hasani underscored that youth should aspire to be active contributors capable of generating impact that extends beyond their individual lives and immediate surroundings, rather than merely consuming content. He stressed that a high number of followers does not inherently translate to genuine societal benefit or utility. He affirmed that science is a responsibility, words are a trust, and fame does not equate to lasting impact, advocating for a generation conscious of these principles.
The Rector called upon youth to cultivate both competence and a strong ethical compass to guide their digital capabilities toward serving humanity and society effectively. He encouraged them to diligently acquire knowledge and integrate it with practical action, asserting that increased learning elevates an individual's value and standing within the community. Furthermore, Al-Qasimi Al-Hasani emphasized that the Grande Mosquée d'Alger's commitment to youth development is a continuous investment in the nation's future, urging scientific and religious institutions to foster dialogue and provide the confidence necessary for young people to transition from passive recipients to active creators of positive change.
