National Award to Promote Islamic Heritage Study

President Abdelmadjid Tebboune has established the "Algeria Prize for the Biography of the Prophet" by presidential decree, as recently published in the Official Gazette. This initiative aims to encourage the memorization and understanding of the Noble Prophetic Hadith across various age groups, while also instilling prophetic values, particularly among young people. The decree underscores the state's commitment to and Algerian citizens' interest in the Prophetic Biography and the Noble Hadith.

The newly created prize is structured around several competitions, including an annual national encouraging competition tailored for young memorizers of the Noble Hadith, and a separate annual national competition for Hadith memorization. Additionally, an international competition will be organized every three years. These competitions are designed to identify and celebrate excellence in the study and preservation of the Prophet's life and teachings. The judging panels for these events will comprise national and international experts chosen from researchers in the fields of Hadith and Prophetic Biography, with their appointments determined by the Minister of Religious Affairs.

Winners of the "Algeria Prize for the Biography of the Prophet" will receive certificates of appreciation and financial rewards. The monetary prizes vary by competition category and placement, reaching up to 3,250,000 DZD for the first-place winner in the international competition, 1,000,000 DZD for the top national adult memorizer, and 500,000 DZD for the leading young memorizer in the encouraging competition. The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place during a national week dedicated to the Noble Prophetic Biography, which is organized annually during the month of Muharram, commemorating the Prophetic Migration.
