Algiers to Host 27th International Handicraft Fair in December 2026

Algeria is set to host the 27th International Handicraft Fair from December 3 to 7, 2026, at the Palais des Expositions in Algiers. The Ministry of Tourism and Handicrafts is organizing this annual event, with initial preparatory meetings held at the Ministry's headquarters, chaired by Minister Houria Meddahi. These preparations are part of ongoing efforts to arrange international promotional events for tourism and handicrafts scheduled for the last quarter of 2026.
The Minister highlighted the fair's significance as a prominent annual international event organized by Algeria. It serves as a vital platform to showcase the authenticity of Algeria's cultural, civilizational, and artistic heritage. This initiative aligns with the national authorities' vision to value, preserve, and promote this rich legacy, presenting it to an international audience.
Emphasis was placed on integrating an economic dimension into the fair, with plans for diverse activities involving various sector stakeholders. The event will also feature meetings and forums designed to highlight Algeria's extensive cultural and artistic heritage. Furthermore, the fair will underscore the Algerian state's commitment to advancing the handicraft sector through various support mechanisms directed at artisans and professionals.
