El Tarf Receives 20 New Buses for Public Transport

The wilaya of El Tarf recently took delivery of 20 new buses, a move set to reinforce its urban and semi-urban transport fleet. This reception aligns with President Abdelmadjid Tebboune's decision to renew the national transport network with a total of 10,000 buses, and was overseen by the Minister of Interior, Local Communities, and Transport, Saïd Sayoud. The wilaya's Governor, Meziane Mohamed, accompanied by local officials and security authorities, personally inspected the modern vehicles during their reception in El Tarf municipality.

These newly acquired buses feature various capacities and comply with approved standards, specifically designed to enhance coverage across El Tarf's urban and semi-urban routes. This particular consignment elevates the public urban and semi-urban transport company's fleet in the wilaya to a total of 34 buses, significantly broadening its operational scope within the region.

The strategic expansion of the bus fleet is intended to meet the growing demands of residents, markedly improve travel conditions, and elevate the overall quality of public services provided to citizens. Governor Meziane Mohamed has also urged the public transport company officials to extend operational hours, particularly during peak times and throughout the evening, to better accommodate the high demand for mobility. Further plans include a dedicated meeting to determine the optimal distribution of these buses, with an emphasis on densely populated areas, including the western regions of the wilaya such as Deraan, Besbes, and Ben M'hidi, to address existing transport service deficits.
