Algeria’s Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, Murad Ajjal, received on Sunday a high-level delegation from Egypt’s Suwidi Electric Group, headed by Ahmed Al-Suwidi, Chairman of the Board of Directors, in a move aimed at deepening economic and investment cooperation between the two countries.
The meeting, attended by senior sector officials, focused on reviewing progress of existing agreements between Algeria’s Sonelgaz group and the Egyptian company, as well as exploring expanded cooperation in energy and renewables.
Minister Ajjal told dzwatch that strengthening Algeria’s push toward African markets through strategic partnerships with trusted partners — particularly across Africa and the Middle East — remains a top national priority.
He stressed that manufacturing energy equipment, engineering solutions, and building power generation and conversion stations represent key export sectors Algeria is actively developing.
The Minister also proposed a joint project to build electricity production stations across several African nations under a win-win partnership model, alongside the potential establishment of a joint company targeting the promising African energy market.
