The Algerian national football team will discover their opponents for the Africa Cup of Nations 2027 qualifying campaign on Tuesday, as the draw ceremony takes place at the Egyptian Football Association headquarters in Cairo, starting at 1:00 PM Algeria time.
Algeria, ranked in Pot 1 based on the latest official FIFA rankings issued on April 1st, will be among the top-seeded nations as the 48 participating teams are distributed across 12 groups of four.
The tournament, scheduled to run from June 19 to July 17, 2027, will be jointly hosted by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania — marking a historic first for East Africa and the return of AFCON finals to the region after a 51-year absence.
The top two finishers from each qualifying group will advance to the finals. Host nations Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania will also participate in the qualifiers despite their automatic qualification status, accompanied by additional teams from their respective groups.
Qualifying matches will be played across three official FIFA international windows, as Algeria’s Desert Warriors look to secure their place at the continental showpiece.
