Algeria and Egypt Strengthen Bilateral Ties: Foreign Minister Attaf Meets President Sisi in Cairo

Algeria’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad, and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, was received Thursday in Cairo by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, in a high-level diplomatic meeting that underscored the deepening brotherhood between the two nations.

During the meeting, Minister Attaf delivered a personal written message from President Abdelmadjid Tebboune to his Egyptian counterpart, conveying fraternal greetings and reaffirming Algeria’s commitment to elevating bilateral cooperation to new horizons.

The two sides reviewed the positive momentum characterizing Algerian-Egyptian relations, particularly in implementing outcomes of their 9th Joint High Committee, held in Cairo last November, with emphasis on consolidating the economic partnership in line with the ambitious vision shared by both leaders.

The meeting also addressed prospects for continued coordination on pressing Arab and African issues, with special focus on the situation in neighboring Libya, as both countries prepare for upcoming joint consultations.
