Europa League Draw Sets Path for Seven Algerian Players

The draw for the Europa League phase on August 28, 2026, has set the stage for seven Algerian footballers participating in the competition this year. These players, representing various European clubs, now face their adversaries across different challenging groups following the recent draw.

Among the Algerian representatives, Ibrahim Maza of Bayer Leverkusen is placed in a demanding group, preparing to face established clubs such as Olympique Marseille and Olympique Lyonnais, alongside Salzburg and Dinamo Zagreb. His compatriots Amine Gouiri and Himad Abdelli, both playing for Olympique Marseille, are also set to encounter Maza's Leverkusen, with their schedule further including matches against Olympiakos and Celtic Glasgow. Kilian Belazzoug, playing for Stade Rennais, will contend with significant teams like Juventus and Olympiakos, in addition to Dinamo Zagreb and Sparta Prague.
