WHO and Algeria Partner to Enhance Health Services
Algeria's Ministry of Health, represented by Minister Mohamed Siddiq Ait Masoudan, recently signed a cooperation program with the World Health Organization (WHO), represented by its Algeria delegate Fanuel Habimana. This budget cooperation program, set for the period of 2026-2027, embodies a shared commitment from Algeria and the global organization to strengthen their partnership and foster collaboration in the health sector. The initiative is designed to support the development of the national health system and align with Algeria's national health priorities.
According to a ministry statement, the program outlines several strategic priorities and axes. These include reinforcing health systems, supporting universal health coverage, and implementing measures for the prevention and control of both communicable and non-communicable diseases. Furthermore, the cooperation aims to enhance national capabilities in preparing for and responding to health emergencies.
