Joint Army Forces Seize Over 31 kg Cocaine, Apprehend Three

Joint detachments of Algeria's People's National Army successfully apprehended three individuals and seized a significant quantity of hard drugs in the Tamanrasset military sector, located within the Sixth Military Region. The operation, which took place on Friday, resulted in the recovery of over 31 kilograms of cocaine, as confirmed by a Ministry of National Defense statement issued on Saturday.
The seizure involved cocaine meticulously concealed within a tourist car, which was being transported on a semi-trailer truck. This interdiction was achieved through the optimal utilization of intelligence, allowing the joint detachments to thwart the smuggling attempt and take the three suspected individuals into custody.
The Ministry of National Defense affirmed that this precise operation underscores the People's National Army units' continued commitment to countering attempts that threaten the security and safety of citizens and aim to flood the country with illicit drugs. It further highlights the ongoing efforts to combat smuggling and drug trafficking, reinforcing border control across the nation.
