Sonatrach Delivers First Jet A1 Fuel Shipment to Niger

Sonatrach, Algeria's state-owned energy company, has initiated the export of Jet A1 aviation fuel to Niger. The first shipments of this fuel are originating from the Adrar refinery, located in southwestern Algeria. This operation marks a new development in the commercial relationship between the two nations.
This delivery of aviation fuel is being conducted under a contract established between Sonatrach and SONIDEP, Niger's national petroleum company. The initiative aligns with Algeria's overarching strategy to expand its exports into African markets, with a specific focus on meeting Niger's energy requirements and solidifying regional energy partnerships.
The commencement of aviation fuel exports reinforces bilateral commercial ties and enhances Algeria's role as a key energy supplier within the Sahel region. This collaboration is a component of a larger strategic partnership between Algeria and Niger, which encompasses both energy and defense aspects. Sonatrach's efforts are geared towards fostering direct cooperation with other African oil and gas companies, particularly in the Sahel, thereby creating new opportunities for supplying the region with Algerian petroleum products.
