Ministry of Interior Distributes Aid for July Fire Victims

The Algerian Ministry of Interior, Local Communities, and Transport has called on citizens affected by the forest fires that occurred last July to visit their local municipalities beginning August 18. This initiative is for the collection of state aid decisions, implemented in adherence to directives issued by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.

This step follows the Ministry's announcement regarding the completion of the comprehensive inventory of losses resulting from the fires across various regions of the country. Local services conducted thorough field surveys to assess the extent of damages, identifying losses related to properties, facilities, agricultural crops, fruit trees, livestock, and other affected economic activities.

Citizens impacted by the fires are encouraged to approach their respective municipalities from August 18 to finalize the necessary procedures for managing the aftermath of these incidents. The municipalities serve as the designated local entities responsible for receiving documentation and guiding individuals through the required steps for support. This process is designed to enable specialized services to complete data on registered losses, verify submitted files, and subsequently implement the necessary measures to assist the affected, in accordance with established frameworks and procedures.

The meticulous inventory process holds particular importance for farmers whose farms, crops, fruit trees, or livestock sustained damage, as the fires inflicted direct losses on their means of production and affected agricultural lands. Accurate surveys and statistics are crucial for determining the precise scale of damage in each area, thereby providing a robust database that assists local authorities in effectively channeling intervention and support towards the most impacted groups and regions.
