Ras El Aïn Plant Now Produces 300,000 m³ of Water Daily

The Ras El Aïn seawater desalination plant in Oran has reached its full production capacity of 300,000 cubic meters per day, marking a significant milestone in Algeria's efforts to enhance its water resources. Operated by the Algerian Water Desalination Company, a subsidiary of the Sonatrach group, this facility has now completed all phases of its gradual production ramp-up, adhering to established standards. This achievement directly strengthens the potable water supply system for Oran and its neighboring areas.
Since its commissioning, the Ras El Aïn plant has already produced 92,345,000 cubic meters of desalinated water, underscoring its vital role in national water security. The facility's full operational status bolsters the water production capabilities in Oran Province, helping to meet the growing needs of citizens for drinking water and ensuring a stable supply of this essential resource.
The completion of the Ras El Aïn seawater desalination plant is part of Algeria's first supplementary national program, which has now been fully delivered. This program is specifically designed to reinforce water security, reflecting the Algerian state's commitment to safeguarding water resources and improving public water services across the nation. The Algerian Water Desalination Company, a Sonatrach subsidiary, has reiterated its dedication to advancing seawater desalination initiatives, further contributing to national water security and ensuring sustainable access to potable water.
