Cameroonian Students to Receive 255 Algerian Scholarships

Algeria has significantly increased its scholarship offerings for foreign students, allocating a total of 255 grants to Cameroonian nationals for the 2026-2027 academic and training year. This comprehensive initiative includes both university study programs and specialized professional training opportunities. The commitment underscores Algeria's dedication to educational exchange and fostering international collaboration, particularly with African nations.
The allocation includes 205 university scholarships, as announced by Cameroon's Ministry of Higher Education on August 12. These university grants cover various fields of study, with 200 dedicated to general university courses, three for state engineering programs, and two for post-university studies. These opportunities allow Cameroonian students to pursue diverse academic paths within Algerian institutions.
In addition to the university places, an extra quota of 50 scholarships has been made available for professional training programs, as confirmed by the Cameroonian Minister of Employment and Vocational Training on August 19. These specific grants target young Cameroonians aged 18 to 30 years as of September 1, 2026, who hold a secondary or professional baccalaureate. This expansion ensures access to practical skills development alongside academic pursuits.
General eligibility requirements for all applicants stipulate Cameroonian nationality, perfect physical and mental health, and proficiency in either French or English. The availability of these 255 scholarships for the upcoming academic and training year provides substantial educational prospects for Cameroonian youth and reinforces the bonds between Algeria and Cameroon through educational diplomacy.
