Chiakha Becomes Rosenborg’s Most Expensive Player at €5 Million

Rosenborg Football Club has finalized the permanent transfer of Algerian international Amine Chiakha from Danish club FC Copenhagen. The deal, valued at €5 million, has been described by Danish newspaper Tipsbladet as historic, making it the most expensive transfer in Norwegian football history. Following the activation of a purchase option, the Algerian striker has secured a new four-and-a-half-year contract, committing him to Rosenborg until the end of 2030.

Chiakha had initially joined Rosenborg in January 2026 on a loan agreement that was set to conclude at the end of the year. During his loan spell, the 20-year-old attacker delivered a notable performance, registering 10 goals in 18 official matches. His significant contributions on the field played a crucial role in convincing the Norwegian club's management to secure his services permanently.

The permanent move signifies a positive trajectory for Chiakha, who expressed his satisfaction with continuing his journey at Rosenborg. He affirmed that he feels he is in the right environment to enhance his skills and noted his continuous improvement. This transfer also highlights his success in regaining top form after a challenging period with his previous club, positioning him to pursue his ambition of leading the Algerian national team's attack in future competitions.
