Saidal Group Restarts Houb Pharma Production Lines in Constantine

Younes Bouarara, Director General of the public Saidal Group, has overseen the progressive restart of production lines at the former Houb Pharma facility in Constantine. This operation follows directives from Wassim Ghouidri, the Minister of Pharmaceutical Industry, and places the facility under Saidal Group's operational control, as established by decisions 24/0049 and 24/0014. The initiative represents a strategic step to bolster the national pharmaceutical industry and safeguard critical expertise.

This restart is part of a deliberate and gradual approach managed by Saidal Group executives, ensuring the optimal utilization of available capacities and capabilities. The reactivation of production lines is meticulously scheduled according to defined priorities, specifically addressing the needs of the national market. This includes a particular focus on pharmaceutical products deemed essential and prioritized for patients and the broader national health system.

In parallel with the resumption of activities and the scaling up of production, there will be a gradual reintegration and recovery of workers and employees, aligning with the requirements of each phase. This process prioritizes the valuation of the skills and experience accumulated by the site's workforce over years of operation. Furthermore, to ensure continuous production and prevent any disruptions in national market supply, certain pharmaceutical products previously manufactured at Saidal's Medea unit will be transferred to the former Houb Pharma site in Constantine during the reorganization period.
