Beihang University Collaborates with Oran’s USTO-MB on Scientific Research

Oran's University of Science and Technology Mohamed Boudiaf (USTO-MB) is preparing to formalize a cooperation agreement with China's Beihang University, a prominent institution in engineering and high technology. This partnership marks a significant step towards the internationalization of USTO-MB's scientific research. The official signing is scheduled for November 2026 in China, during a visit by the Rector of USTO-MB, Professor Emeritus Ahmed Hamou.
The alliance, which resulted from strategic discussions held in Oran with Professor Amara Amara, an international figure in microelectronics and former president of the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society, aims to create concrete bridges between Algerian research and Asian innovation ecosystems. Key priorities for this partnership include advanced technologies, with a central objective to industrialize university research findings. This protocol also seeks to energize international mobility for researchers, educators, and students.
The agreement outlines several initiatives, including the co-supervision of theses, joint PhD programs, and the development of collaborative research projects designed to attract international funding. As a foundational operational element of this collaboration, an international summer school is planned for June and July 2027 in China, expected to host approximately one thousand students globally. A select group of USTO-MB students and doctoral candidates will participate to receive training in emerging technologies and integrate into global scientific networks.
By connecting with Beihang University and its Hangzhou International Innovation Institute (H3I), USTO-MB strategically strengthens its academic standing. This collaboration reinforces its role as a significant academic hub within Algeria and across the Mediterranean basin, reflecting Algeria's commitment to advancing its higher education and scientific research through international cooperation.
