Olympic Qualification Bid Continues for Algerian Volleyball

The Algerian men's national beach volleyball team secured its place in the semi-finals of the African Championship following a 2-1 victory over Mozambique. This advancement came during the quarter-final round of the tournament currently being held in Alexandria.
The quarter-final match saw the Algerian team claim a marathon first set with a score of 30-28. Mozambique responded by winning the second set 21-13, but Algeria ultimately clinched the decisive third set 15-13 on the Abu Heif beach courts, securing their progression in the competition.
With this win, Algeria now joins national teams from Morocco, Tunisia, and Angola in the semi-final stage. The team's continued performance in the championship represents a significant step forward in their campaign to compete for the African title and a qualification berth for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
