Sihem Djoudi to Lead Ottawa’s New Health Clinic

Algerian physician Sihem Djoudi has been appointed Director General of the Montfort Community Family Health Team of West Ottawa, a new clinic in Canada. This facility aims to deliver primary healthcare services in French to the residents of West Ottawa, Canada’s capital region. Dr. Djoudi's appointment recognizes her extensive background and dedication within the healthcare sector.
Dr. Djoudi completed her medical studies in Algeria, earning a doctorate in medicine from Badji Mokhtar University in Annaba. She further specialized with a Master's in Educational Technology and a Specialized Graduate Diploma from Laval University. Her career spans over 18 years, encompassing experience in healthcare, post-secondary education, and organizational development, which provided a foundation for her new leadership role.
Before her current promotion, Dr. Djoudi served as a Project Manager for Colleges Ontario and as a Learning Development Coordinator at La Cité College, while also teaching part-time at the University of Ottawa. Her commitment to educational excellence and innovation has been recognized with multiple accolades, including a 2016 award for her outstanding work as a professor in the interdisciplinary schools of health sciences and the 2023 Collegiate Merit Award for excellence and innovation at La Cité College. Reflecting on her appointment, Dr. Djoudi expressed it as a “privilege to contribute to building this new organization and to participate concretely in improving access to primary care in French in West Ottawa.” She also conveyed her aspiration to collaborate with her team, partners, and the community to establish an accessible, collaborative, and sustainable clinic focused on patient needs and high-quality human care.
