Médéa Wilaya Achieves Record Cereal Output Exceeding 1.37 Million Quintals

Médéa wilaya achieved a record cereal production during the 2025/2026 agricultural season's harvest and threshing campaign. The total quantity collected from various wheat varieties surpassed 1.3 million quintals, marking a notable achievement for the region.

According to reports from wilaya services on Sunday, the collected quantity of durum wheat, soft wheat, and barley reached 1,378,483.59 quintals as of August 16. This figure was announced by Mohieddine Belahimer, Director of Agricultural Services, during a coordination meeting chaired by Wali Djilali Doumi, which focused on evaluating the campaign's results in cereal production and collection.

Efforts are currently underway to collect and store the remaining estimated 723,919.82 quintals of the harvest. Wilaya services have urged farmers to utilize the El Berrouaghia Cereals and Dry Legumes Cooperative or one of the 12 collection centers established across the wilaya's municipalities to facilitate the process.
