Presidential Decree Creates New Award for Algerian Startups

President Abdelmadjid Tebboune has officially established the 'Algeria Presidential Award for Best Startup' through a presidential decree. Published in Official Gazette number 60 as Presidential Decree number 26-86, this initiative is designed to encourage and reward innovation and entrepreneurship within Algeria. The decree also modifies the financial values associated with the award, underscoring a commitment to fostering a dynamic startup ecosystem.

The award recognizes innovators across three distinct categories, with each winner receiving a certificate of appreciation and a financial reward. The top prize for the Best Accelerating Startup is set at six million Algerian Dinars (6,000,000 DZD). The winner of the Best Startup category will receive four million Algerian Dinars (4,000,000 DZD), while the Best Innovative Project will be granted three million Algerian Dinars (3,000,000 DZD).

In a related development, the deadline for submitting applications for the 14th edition of the National Award for Innovative Small and Medium Enterprises has been extended. Innovators now have until September 20 to submit their files, with registrations managed through a dedicated digital platform available at Prixinnov.industrie.gov.dz.
