Ambassador Merabet Presents Credentials as Algeria’s UNESCO Representative

Ambassador Abdelghani Merabet officially presented his credentials to Khaled El Anani, the Director-General of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). This formal ceremony marked his assumption of duties as Algeria's Permanent Representative to the international body. A career diplomat, he previously held strategic positions within the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including Director of International Political Affairs and Director-General of Multilateral Relations. His extensive background also includes serving as a senior advisor to the President of the United Nations General Assembly and chairing the Group of 77 during the Rio+20 Earth Summit. His profile is seen as well-suited to advance Algeria's interests in education and heritage preservation on the international stage.
