Air Algérie Expands Network With Seven New Global Routes

Air Algérie is expanding its international network with the launch of seven new routes across Africa, Asia, and Europe. This development is part of an ongoing fleet renewal and development plan, aiming to extend the national carrier's global reach. A key objective of this network enlargement is to transform Algiers International Airport into a regional air hub, facilitating connections between major African cities and other global destinations.

The expansion includes a significant increase in connectivity within Africa, following the launch of the Algiers-Luanda service in June. Upcoming African routes include Algiers-Conakry, set to commence on October 25, alongside Algiers-Brazzaville and a combined Lagos-Abuja service, both launching on October 26. These three routes will operate with three weekly frequencies, aiming to strengthen intra-continental connectivity and provide travelers with additional options to reach Europe via Algiers.

The network extension also encompasses new connections in Asia and Europe. For Asia, Air Algérie will introduce a new Algiers-Shanghai route starting October 26, 2026, which will operate three times weekly utilizing an Airbus A330-900neo. Sales for this route have already begun. Furthermore, discussions are underway for the upcoming launch of a direct air link from Algiers to Kuwait, as confirmed by Algeria's Ambassador to Kuwait, Omar Belhadj. In Europe, a new service is scheduled to launch from September 14.
