Diaspora Youth Visit Algiers Institutions, Reinforce National Bonds

A delegation of Algerian diaspora children, including those residing in France and Saudi Arabia, alongside youth from In Salah province, recently participated in a series of institutional visits in Algiers. These visits are a component of the 2026 National Summer Camps Program, organized by the Ministry of Youth. This initiative, guided by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, represents a focused effort to integrate the younger generation into their national heritage and strengthen communication between the diaspora and the homeland.

During their participation, the delegates gained firsthand insight into various state structures and their functions. At the Council of the Nation, they were introduced to its legislative and oversight roles, as well as the historical evolution of Algeria's parliamentary institution. Similarly, the Ministry of Relations with Parliament provided information on its coordination efforts between the government and the legislature. These comprehensive engagements were designed to solidify connections, foster a deeper bond between diaspora children and their nation's institutions, and instill a strong sense of citizenship and national identity.

Official statements highlighted the strategic significance of these interactions, emphasizing that the children of the national diaspora are considered active partners in Algeria's development and a strategic asset for its future. The President of the People's National Assembly, Khalida Boufdesh, encouraged the young visitors to embrace responsibility and contribute diligently to their nation's progress. This national program is structured to include 2,000 children and youth from the diaspora, with coordination between the Ministry of Youth and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, underscoring Algeria's steadfast commitment to reinforcing the ties that unite its citizens abroad with their home country.
