Jaouen Hadjam Joins Brighton, Signs Premier League Contract Until 2031

Brighton & Hove Albion FC has officially announced the signing of Algerian international Jaouen Hadjam from Swiss club BSC Young Boys. The left-back has agreed to a five-year contract, committing to the Premier League side until June 2031. This significant transfer sees the 23-year-old move to one of Europe's most prestigious football leagues, marking a crucial progression in his career and enhancing Algeria's presence in elite European competitions.

Brighton's Sporting Director, Mike Cave, expressed enthusiasm regarding the acquisition. He stated that Hadjam is expected to be an “excellent addition” to the squad, reinforcing their defensive options. Cave described him as a modern left-back, recognized for his speed, offensive contributions, and technical skills, which align well with the club's playing style. His versatility, demonstrated during his time in Switzerland, was also highlighted as a valuable asset for the Premier League team.

Hadjam's journey to the Premier League reflects a steady ascent in his professional career. He began his professional debut with Paris FC in 2020, later joining FC Nantes in early 2023, where he experienced Ligue 1. In January 2024, he moved to Young Boys in Switzerland, establishing himself as a key player and gaining European experience. Notably, Hadjam, who previously represented France at U17 and U19 levels, chose to represent Algeria internationally in March 2023, solidifying his commitment to the national team. This move to Brighton represents his first venture into the English Premier League.
