Civil Protection Extinguishes 110 Wildfires in 24 Hours

Algeria's Civil Protection services have successfully brought 110 wildfires under control out of a total of 174 reported across several provinces. These significant efforts occurred within the last 24 hours, marking a strong response to widespread incidents.

The General Directorate of Civil Protection confirmed that these extensive firefighting operations were carried out from Thursday to Friday morning at 7:00 AM. While a substantial number of blazes have been extinguished, operations are reportedly continuing to address the remaining fires impacting vegetation, agricultural areas, and palm oases.

The ongoing response highlights the continuous commitment and robust capabilities of Algeria's emergency services. In critical areas such as Jijel, Annaba, and Bejaia, firefighting efforts have been augmented by the deployment of specialized aircraft, including those from the Algerian National People's Army, further demonstrating the state's comprehensive approach to disaster management and protection of national resources.
